powering on this Roland D-70 the only thing I got is a "no ram card exit"
error display message. The same happens even when holding key bank8 for the
factory reset. Sometimes the synt boot correctly but after a while it goes
"crazy" with random leds blinking until the "no ram card exit" is back
again.
Any hints ?
Thank you

I think it would be worth a look at the back-up battery. It is a
longshot but weird stuff can happen when the voltage gets low.
Probably a 3 volt battery backup in there somewhere. Take it out --
do a hard reset and then see -- replace with new battery.

If that doesn't work -- try reseating all the IC chips and connectors in
there when you have it open but only with the POWER OFF!!!

Good Luck.

Ciao James,
thank you for your help, I have yet done some tests removing the back up
battery, resetting and replacing it without any luck. Before me, another
tech guy replaced one roland ic (qfp package) near the cpu (socketed
plcc68).
I do not have any diagram, anyway next days i'm going to perform some
waveform tests with the 'scope in my shop, I hope to find something.
